If you’re thinking about reaching out, here’s what the introductory consultation is, how to schedule one, and a few simple things that help me make the most of our time together.
What the introductory consultation is for
The introductory consultation is a free 15-minute conversation. It’s a chance for us to meet, for you to tell me what’s going on, and for you to ask questions before deciding anything. I’ll listen, ask a few questions of my own, and explain how I work and what the next step would look like if you’d like to move forward. There’s no obligation — the point is simply for us to get acquainted.
How to schedule
The easiest way is through the consultation page, where you can book a time online. Prefer to talk first? Call the office at 954.860.8040 instead. Consultations are offered by phone, video, or in person — whichever works best for you. Interpreter services are available upon request.
What helps me help you
You don’t need to prepare anything formal, and your paperwork doesn’t need to be in perfect order. That said, a few things make a short conversation go further:
- Your questions. Write them down ahead of time so we’re sure to get to what matters most to you.
- A simple timeline. A few notes on your situation — what has happened and roughly when, in your own words — help me follow your story quickly.
- Anything you’ve already received or filed. If you have letters, notices, or copies of paperwork connected to your situation, it helps to have them nearby. Please don’t worry about sorting out what any of it means — that’s my job, not yours.
If you don’t have any of this ready, reach out anyway. Fifteen minutes of conversation is a fine place to start.
What happens afterward
If your situation needs more time than a short introduction allows, extended, one-hour consultations are also available, and we’ll talk about that option together before you decide anything. Either way, you’ll leave the introductory consultation knowing how I work and what working with the firm would look like.
